FIRST DAY OF SPRING!

Springtime Pioneer!

Today was an absolutely STUNNING day. It was a balmy 70+ degrees, with puffy white clouds and warm sunshine. I spent the day dreaming of our next roadtrip. Time to purchase another Texas State Park's pass, and dig out the roadmap. We're already planning a trip to the coast in a few short weeks!

Somebody is enjoying my tomato plants!

I've also been SPRING CLEANING. For the first time in a LONG TIME, I dropped donations off at the Goodwill. This means that I'm actually making PROGRESS in cleaning out my closets!

I've also been staring at my window sills and thinking about all those packets of seeds I had intended to plant before spring. A few weeks back I had purchased cherry tomatoes, Zinnias, green bell peppers, etc, etc... Perhaps I will get those little pots started this week and place them in my window.

Gardening at the farm.

Zinnia's are one of my favorite flowers to plant as they keep blooming and blooming and blooming!

I absolutely adore the CLEOME flowers, or as some call them, spider plants. They are drought tolerant, and grow up to 6 feet tall. These annuals return each year and are very hardy. I love'm!

Of course, I can't help but plant batches of mammoth sized Sunflowers. These plants are interesting as they turn their faces towards the sun and droop their heads when they are thirsty!

One of my spring fashions for Ellowyne!

Zinnia's are one of my fav's too but their a hard runner up for those sunflowers. I expecially love the way the sunflowers bring all the Cardinals and Canaries out to eat the seeds.
